We were afraid our luggage was going to be too heavy for the .plane as there is a limit on weight. It passed the weight test safely and so we have lots of new coral specimens.
Michigan is known as the “water wonderland,”' and one sees sparkling lakes at most any turn in the road. Though we missed the mountains, we were greatly impressed by the sky. There is so very much sky when no mountains interfere with the view. The moon comes up in splendor, seemingly right out of the ground.
The weather man was on his best behaviour and resisted bringing on any fall weather until September 7 when he turned on a temperature of 45°. That is when we decided it was time to start for the South. It was 83° when we reached Washington that evening.
