Miller, asked about attaching a box to the slot in the post office door, for mail, approved, and A J. Slaughter will be asked to make the box. It was not learned whether or not it was compulsory to fly a flag over the po6t office, so the issue ' was continued. *

The apple trfe, in th^ playground, blown down by the hurricane, had been sawed up, and as the labor bill totaled $5.00, it was suggested that the wood be sold to defray these expenses.
Mayor Dorothy Davis reported on her trip to the 50th annual convention of the league of Virginia Municipalities, held last week at Old Point Comfort. Several ideas that she had gained talking to other mayors on how they had brought extra money into the town treasurer included: putting a tax on any contractor’s work, that is in excess of $26,000 ; town tax for cars or'a license tax for attorneys practicing in town. *_
