Tentative Budget
For Washington
The town of Washington’* 1955-36 tentative budget, calling for an estimated $2,162 expenditure, was discussed by the Council in their Tuesday night meeting in the town hall. As this budget runs $225 over the $1937 estimated income, methods of making up the deficit were under consideration, including town license tags and property taxes. There was also comment on ’ leaving out of the budget something not absolutely necessary.
The budget runs over the 195455 budget due to the inclusion of several projects planned by the council such as the purchase of an oil heater for the town hall ($125); obtaining of permanent Christmas tree ($50); printing colored post cards ($50) ; and more town leaflets (36); as well as the renewing of «he 10-year lease on the town dumping ground ($150.00).
