Annual Dinner
Plans for the Firemen’s Birthday dinner were discussed by the Ladies Auxiliary to the Washington Volunteer Fire Department in their January meeting Monday night. Set for January 20th at 6:30, the annual affair honoring the firemen promises plenty of good eats and entertainment. v
The Auxiliary’s president, Mrs. B. R. Cox, conducted the meet-. in* MisiRuby XentfifTlifeiHIto* minutes of the last meeting, and Miss Mary Jenkins, treasurer, reported that the Auxiliary had a total of $678.63 in the treasury. • A new member, Mrs. A. M. Hickman, was welcomed to the organization. Mrs. Hickman was elected second vice-president in the auxiliary’s December meeting.) 4 •
Reading a list of the 1955 standing committees, Mrs. Cox asked if these chairmen and their members would serve for the year 1956. With only a few exceptions, they agreed. Mrs. W. H. Massie, I Jr., chairman of the Hospitality I Committee, will not be here for the Firemen’s Dinner, and asked that someone serve in her place at the banquet. Mrs. Frank Moffett will serve in this capacity. Among the committee chairmen I that will be active in preparing ifor the dinner will be:
