Crew members are used on forest fires within their own county and are under the Supervision of trained fire fighters at all times. They will be picked up at the school and returned to school if school is still in session. If school is closed, crew members will be returned to their homes. Crew members are covered by Workmen’s Compensation Insurance at all times and are paid at the same hourly rate as other fire fighters.
High school boys participating •n this program are rendering valuable assistance in fire control work and fire prevention, and has been one reason for the improved fire contrpl work in Rappahannock County.
