Homer and Frances, who live on Marshall Rd., Vienna, Va., staged a creasey greens extravaganza the other night, with brother Newton Rowzie, Bob and Edna Kearney, YVilda Harris, LeRoy Nieman and the residents of Grigsby Hill Farm as visiting gourmets.

The Rowzies mad converts of us all. The stuff is not only rich in mineral but, cooked with “streak meat”H layers of lean alternating with layers of fat), it’s downright palatable.

Creasey greens, known to the elite as upland cress, grow wild in many sections of rural Virginia, notably around Front Royal and in Rappahannock County. Homer as a boy used to cut it out of wheat fields in the winter time.

When he moved to Fairfax County, some upland cress seeds were in Homer’s pocket and creasev gre?ns have been conspicious in his vegetable garden ever since.

One unsubstantiated rumor has it that he's a secret source for Bolgiano, who has been inveigled into packaging the seed for sale.

Wh tt.s known for sure is that Coin 's evangelism on behalf of t!v delicacy has?made it increasing1\ p-i'nlar in Fairfax County.

R ’<-' frnizing a good thing in the ■raCmr. Brown’s Meat Market in Falls Church started importing the vegetable from the Shenandoah Valley severed years ago.

And now the market has made a deal with the iHawksbill Cannery' at Turay, Va. At the cannery creasey greens are cooked with country meat as seasoning, and canned. They are delivered ready to eat; they need only to be warmd up.
