Someone passed along the word that a boxcar load of fresh upland cress had arrived here last week from Florida and could be had at the farm market at 7th and O Sts. nw. Dashing over there, I found the report true. The pressure cooker will be working overtime in a certain Centreville kitchen this weekend!
Upland cress is dissimilar in appearance but has about the same favor as its oouiin, water-cress, which grows in running water in sandy creek bottoms. Continued on page ten
