Something over $900 million in Federal money will be spent on hospitals and other costs directly related to public health, and there will be such lesser expenditures as $130 million for school lunches and more than $500 million for grants arid loaps to students and educational institutions. The $20 billion of course, doei not include the other billions which will be spent for purposes which while not embraced in the usual concept of social welfare, do involve Federal cash benefits for individuals, such as payments to veterans and farmers.
