A funeral service was held Friday, February 12, from the Washington Baptist Church, with Rev. John Divers conducting the last rites. Interment followed in the Washington Masonic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were M. G. Watts, L. V. Merrill, C. E. Giles, Stanton Weaver, Ned Settle, Charles Reid, Arthur Miller and Roy Clatterbuck.
Order Tree Seedliners
For Reforestation
Landowners in the Northern Piedmont District of Virginia Division of Forestry are encouraged to order tree seedlings for reforestation now. District Forester, D. G. Wilfong, Jr. said again this planting season, which ends approximately April 1, 1960, that the demand will exceed the supply.
W'lfong stated that the Northern Piedmont area was allotted 4.000. 000 seedlings and over 3.000. 000 of these have been ordered. He further indicated that in 1959 the ones who waited until March to order trees were too late and all orders could not be filled.
Seedlings still available are loblolly, shortleaf, white, red and Virginia pine; yellow poplar, black locust and red cedar. Applications
