Entertains Firemen
The Ladies’ Auxiliary to the Amissville Fire Company was hostess to r'"cr % members of the fire company, visiting firemen and other guests :t the seventh annual banquet Thursday, March 17 at the fire hall.
To coincide with St. Patrick’s Dav. the tables were decorated with traditional green in the form of streamers running the length of the table, vases of greert and white carnations and programs printed in green.
After a sumptions dinner of old Virginia ham and turkey, Ralph Rowzie, President of the fire company, acting as Toastmaster, introduced visiting firemen and the guests and pulled a few good jokes on some members of the local company.
Rev. Edward Garris, pastor of Culpeper Methodist Church was speaker of the event.
Piano selections were rendered by Miss Sandra Staap and Misses Sandra and Linda Rowzie, in keeping with the theme, sang “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling”.
The Ladies Auxiliary presented the Fire Company a check for a thousand dollars and the Junior Firemen presented them $100.
Mr. Rowzie, on behalf of the other members and himself thanked the Auxiliary for the wonderful evening and everyone sang “Good Night Ladies”, before departing.
