For Rappahannock
For many years the people of Rappahannock have looked forward to the day when our County would have a library.a comfortable reading room which would provide -reference works and good books for the education and recreation of the people.
A unique set of circumstances has brought this particular dream within our grasp and a temporary committee has been organized to place the plan for a county library before the people and enlist their help and support for this new community venture.
The County has also felt a great need for a place where the historical documents, pictures and mementoes which trace the history of Rappahannock County, now treasured unseen in many homes, could be placed on exhibit for the benefit of residents and visitors. In the changing affairs of families, all too often such valuable records airud keepsakes are lost or destroyed, or passed on to disinterested people who do not appreciate them.
Recently it was announced that the old red brick Presbyterian Church., on Gay Street in Washington, which had been standing empty for so many years, was to be placed on sale by the owners. What better site could be found in all Rappahannock for a library? And how bettor could this lovely old
