Mrs. Sarah Latham, Editor Rappahannock News Washington, Virginia Dear Mrp. Latham:
In recent years, more especially in 1960, various citizens of the county have approached me in person, by telephone, by letter, etc., presenting ideas of ways and means of improving Rappahannock County. To me, this growing attitude is wonderful.
Your paper can help air some of these ideas, plus a few of my own, among our citizens. No doubt there are other ideas of how we can improve the county, as well as the status of every individual, which should be recognized.
One way of getting these ideas planned and activated would be to organize, under some catchy name, having possibly 75 to 100 elected citizens as members, of the countywide parent organization. Feeling the need and wanting to do something are fliusts if such is ever to become a reality.
Under this parent organization could be set up special interest committees to work on the county goals selected by the over-all group.
Rased on ideas already underway, or suggested, special interest committees might be: 1. Rappahanijock Industrial Development Committee. Such a committee poschants,
bankers, barbers, automobile dealers, real estate agents, etc. Of course a temporary committee \is already established.
2. Health and Welfare Committee. For years the need of a dentist
