Ill choosing their fourth date, the Race Committee was confronted with a diminishing number of available dates. All Saturdays were engaged by other Point-to-Point Races: Morch 26—P iedmont Races; April 2—Orange County Rapes; April 9— Blue Ridge Races; April 16—Deep Run Races. Weekdays were not feasible, the Race Committee had found when they chose Wednesday, March 16 as the alternate date after their first postponement. Thaf weekday date had disappointed all of the juniors participating and all most all of the race’s 200 sponsors.
With weekdays and Saturdays eliminated, only Sundays were plausible as dates. Inasmuch as the Rappahannock Races are not stake

Appointed Justice Peace
On March 9, 1960, Judge R. V. Snead appointed Mrs. Janie E. Burkt as a Justice of the Peace for Hampton District, Rappahannock County for the term of office expiring December 31, 1963. Mrs. Burke appeared before the Clerk of the Circuit Court on March 9 and duly qualified as such Justice of the Peace.
Square Dance For P-T-A At Sperryville School
A Square Dance will be held Friday, -April 1st (April Fools Day) at the Sperryville Elementary School from 9 til 1. Admission is $1 per person and musicwill be furnished by Don a 1 d Keyset" and his Country Rhythm Boys. Proceeds will go to the P.T.A. of the Sperryville School.
