Dear Sir: In your* county there are young folks who iire eager to become Well qualified for the future. $fetny of them, no doubt, have access to good elementary and high school programs. The establishment of a good foundation for advanced or special* ized training is not a problem for them. We are* told, however, that many schools in the Southern Appalachians are very limited in their offerings. This causes some young s folks considerable difficulty in col■ lege admission because they have been unable to get the courses needed in science, mathematics, and language. Then, there may be those who want or need some special high school work, such as industrial - arts, business, music, and art, that is not available in their local schooUi|There are others who live in surntjemote areas that no schools are easij available to them.
Few popple realize there are still several private elementary and high schools in the mountain area that are in a position to be of help to these fine young folks who really want to move forward.
