The Farmers Home Administration, an agency of the United States Department of Agriculture, may make Farm Ownership loans to eligible farm families, who are unable to obtain adequate credit from other lenders to carry on successful farm operations.
The loan purpose may be either for the purchase of a farm or for refinancing the present farm debt. Also the loan may include funds to make essential improvements and developments such as constructing or repairing buildings, establishing or improving permanent pasture, clearing land, and improving water supply. The repayment period may be scheduled up to 40 years at five percent.
