Heart Fund Goal Set
At $415,000 # A goal of $415,'000 for the 1961 Heait Fund Campaign in Virginia was announced at the Campaign Kick-Off Dinner at Hotel Jefferson, Richmond, Thursday evening, February 2nd. This announcement was made by Wallace R. Heatwolc, Waynesboro, State Heart Fund Campaign Chairman, who urged his audience to use this goal as “a guidepost ^ and not a hitching post. Let us not be satisfied with leaching this figuic, but let us be satisfied only by surpassing it. If we can arrest heart disease, that we know to be our Number One Killer, we have achieved cur goal.
In continuing, Mr., Heatwolc pointed out that since 1949, a total of 510,000 Virginia Heart Fund dollars have been allocated to the support of heart research. In addition, the Heart Fund supports educational programs and community service, including a rehabili1 tation picgram.
