Federation Meets
The District VIII Home Demonstration group met Wednesday, April 12th at the Baptist Church in Culpeper for the annual spring Federation meeting.
Approximately 375 women from seven counties enjoyed the program which carried out the theme of “One 'Hundred Years Ago.” Participants in the program were dressed in costumes of the period.
Mrs. Charles Smith from the Flint Hill Home Demonstration club reported on the 1961 Federation Program in Rappahannock County which was Art in Daily Living. Emphasis was placed on the study of furniture.
Mrs. Frank Cary, County Chairman, presented $10.00 for Pennies for Friendship. To accent this portion of the program, each county had a representative in native dress of another country. Mrs. Larry Welch of the Flint Hill Club represented Italy. Half of the money given through Pennies For Friendship will be used in the state to assist with the IFYE program and the other half will go to the Country Women of the World.
