The current project of the 130 members of Farm Bureau in Rappahannock County is the improvement of telephone service, and they pointed out that there is ample room for improvement. ,
The Virginia Department of Highways has been most cooperative in making studies of road intersections and installing signs where they found them needed. Intersections studied at the request of Rappahannock Farm Bureau are at Massie’s Corner, Amissville at the intersection of Routes 211 and 642; Sperryville intersection of old Route 211 and Route 522. Slate MiHs Road, grading and widening intersection of Routes 231 and 787.
A letter from the District Engineer stated “Our District Traffic Engineer will continue to study these intersections from time to time.” Appreciation of the cooperation of the Highway Department was expressed by the Directors.
Attending the meeting were Gen. Noce, E. M. Jones, H. S, Barksdale, C. E. Johnson, Jr., D. D. Miller, Irvin Wolf, I. L. Parrish, A. H. Spilman, Herbert Foster, Ray Cannon and Ernest Garber, Fieldman VFBF.
