Winners In 4-H
District Contests
Saturday, April 15th, approximately 75 4-H girls from 18 counties in Northern District entered the District Demonstration Contest held at Madison. Four girls represented Rappahannock County this year.
Tish Kilby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Kilby of Sperryville, was announced District Winner in the Home Grounds Beautification Contest. Tish gave a demonstration on Lawn Care. She will represent the district at the State Contest in June at VPI.
Judy LiUard, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carson Lillard, Flint Hill, entered the Canning Demonstration Contest and received a white award. Judy is alternate to State Contest in this. She had selected for her demonstration How To Can Applesauce.
Betty Kay Kilby, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kilby, Sperryville, entered the Style Dress Revue. Betty modeled a red and white checked dress which she had made. Betty received a red award.
Lillian Reeve, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Reeve, Spcrryville, received a white award. She entered the Poultry Foods Contest with « demonstration .on Southern Fried Chicken.
