Consignment Sale At

Winchester

The oldest consignment sale in America will be held in Winchester, Va. on May 5th at 12:30 p.m. The sale sponsored by the Shenandoah Valley Polled Shorthorn Association was started in 1915 and, has been held annually since with very few exceptions.

This year’s offering of Registered Polled! Shorthorn cattle will consist oi 12 bulls and 60 females consigned from the leading herds of Virginia, Maryland and West Virginia. The largest consignor to the sale with 15 head is 'Harry L. McCann, pioneer breeder from Winchester, Va.

Buyers from several states are exected to be present sale day at the Farmers, Livestock Exchange located west on U. S. 50 from Winchester.

Stan Haworth Auction Co., Sales Managers of Warrenton Va. will conduct the sale under the Standard Guarantee of the American Shorthorn Breeders Association.

It is the hope of the Shenandoah Valley Polled Shorthorn Association that not only new herds will be started through their sales program but also established breeders from a wide area will purchase seed stock to further improve their herds.
