OBITUARIES
Mrs. Annie Wharton
Mrs. Annie Lee Wharton of Castleton, Va., wife of the late William Atha Wharton, died on Tuesday, April 18, at the residence of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. E. Brown Compton of Castleton.
Daughter of the late Edward Wharton and Lucy Margaret Campbell, and a native of Rappahannock County, she was 60.
Besides Mrs. Compton, she is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Frank Walker of Castleton; one son, Frank Davis Wharton of Castleton; ten grandchildren; two brothers, Luther Wharton of Castleton and Roy Wharton of Florida; and a foster daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Lovrincik of Castleton.
Afuneral service was held on Thursday, April 20, from Massanova Penecostal Church, with interment following in the family cemetery at Castleton. The Rev* James Powers conducted the last rites.
Pallbearers were John Watson, Harry Settle, John Cloud, Edward Grigsby, John Compton, Albert Compton, Frank Kinsey, Archie Clatterbuck and Mackendrick Blankenbaker.
Geest Funeral Parlors were in charge of arrangements.
