There seems to be little difference in tenderness and flavor of bull and steer meat, and in some tests, judges even preferred bull beef.”

At Texas Tech, young bulls needed 100 pounds less feed,per 100 pounds gain than did steers; bulls gained 0.3 pounds more per day and made the same weight as steers on $20.00 less feed. Caution — While this is an appreciable difference, it represents only one experiment.
