The Board of Supervision of Rappahannock County, Virginia, upon motion duly made, seconded and passed, does hereby give notice of said Board’s intention to propose the following ordinance for passage at its next regular meeting on June 6, 1962 st 10:00 (muck A> M. (DST)
PROPOSED INTERIM BUILDING ORDINANCE
RAPPAHANNOCK COUNTY, VIRGINIA
In order to promote the health, safety, order and prosperity; to conserve the natural and historic resources; and to provide for the general welfare of Rappahannock County, Virginia, it is desirable and necessary to exercise building control in areas to .be used for agricultural, forestry, residential, commercial and industrial purposes; but Since-the preparation of a comprehensive plan for Rappahannock County, Virginia, will require time for the assembly and evaluation of data, for the preparation of maps and plans, for study by the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors and for the required public barings; and since During this period! of evaluation and study an emergency exists so that it is necessary to protect the interest of the people of Rappahannock County, Virginia, by interim building controls;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED THAT it shall be unlawful in Rappahannock County, Virginia, to locate, construct, reconstruct, alter or enlarge any building or structure when such location, construction, reconstruction, alteration or enlargement shall cost five hudred dofflars ($600) or more without having first secured a building permit issued bar the Board of Supervisors or its duly designated representative.
