With the beginning of daily publication by the Star-Exponent, Culpeper will become the 25th Virginia community to have a daily newspaper. There are less than 1,800 daily newspapers in the entire United States. Published in some 1,000 different communities. The Culpeper Star-Exponent was created in 1953 through merger of the Culpeper Exponent, established in 1881, and the Virginia Star, established in 1919.
