A "pilot” plan is to be -under taken first in the utility company’s Frederick Operating District. This district generally includes Frederick Co. and parts of Carroll, Howard, and Montgomery Counties.
Work on the study will be part of the Area Development activities and will be under the supervision of John H. Larson, the Company’s professional planner.
Mr. MacDonald stressed the need for both public and private industry planning to effectively meet the needs of our developing areas. He pointed to development activities extending outward from the Baltimore and Washington metropolitan areas and the need to anticipate this growth to insure orderly and efficient development patterns.
"Co-ordination with public planning agencies in the development of the Potomac Edison System Plan will be an essential part of our program,” added Mr. MacDonald. "Our Community Development and Planning Program has, over the past two years, assisted many communities and counties interested in planning for their own future growth.”
