The marriage of Miss Myrla Anne Updike,daughter . of Mr. and Mrs. H. Taylor Updike of Washington, Virginia to Franklin Lewis Parker, son of Mrs. Russell Carder and the late Mr. Elmer Parker of Culpeper took place December 25th, 1962 at 3:00 o'clock in the Washington Baptist Church. The Rev. Warren Wilbur, pastor, performed the ceremony.

The church was beautifully decorated with greens, ferns white gladioli and poinsettiasThe bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a street length gown of white satin with a short veil of net attached to a crown of pearls and carried white gardenias arranged on a white Bible. Mrs. Mary Ann Cunningham of Culpeper who was matron of honor, wore a street length gown of winter ! green satin and carried a bouquet of yellow and brown chrysanthemums. Warren Rollins of Culpeper served as best man. Ushers were Richard Burke and Virgil Updike, uncle of the bride. Mrs. Warren Wilbur, organist who presented a program of nuptial music,also sang a solo, "Because". She was accompanied by Miss Virginia Yates Bradford of Flint Hill. Candle lighterwas Gail Updike, younger sister of the .bride. A reception was held immediately following the ceremony at the home of the bride. The couple will make their home at 202 East Street in Culpeper.
