To Salary Increase
County Officials
The December meeting of the Bojrd of Supervisors was held at the courthouse on the '4th wltlj fivemembelrspresent. The following accounts were ordered paid: Salary and mileage to Dog Warden, Jack Bruce,: $85,61; livestock claim by Jackson Swain for $20.00; feeding stray dogs (January 1, 1963-June 30, 1964.) $50.00. _ On motion of H. B. Wood, seconded by Herbert Foster and passed, the Board authorized payment of materials cost for the construction of a Dog Pound at the Bruce farm with Mr. Bruce furnishing the labor. ; The Board approved the con. tinued closing of the Clerk's Office on Saturdays through June 1. The Welfare Budget1 submitted by Mrs. Elizabeth Buntin, Superintendent of Public Welfare was tentatively approved, and five, hospital bills ordered paid. The Board had voiced objections to an Increase in salaries of several county officials who had made a request for same, and three Board members will meet Monday with the Compensation Board in Richmond to discuss this. They are H. B. Wood, Herbert Foster and L. H. Luttrell. The January meeting of the Board will be held January 2 Instead of Wednesday the firstwhich is a holiday.
