receiving back the books--on the open days: Wednesdays 25 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. — noon. During the more than an hour I was in the Library only one person, a boy took advantage of the free service. I had expected to see several persons withdrawing or returning books on such a weather-fine afternoon. Can I be wrong in assuming that the Library has yet to become recognized as a vital factor in the life of Rappahannock? True, the Library is young and, because it must be operated by a volunteer staff, is open only a few hours twice a week, it can hardly expect a large patronage yet awile. But here in a nice building in the heart of Washington C.H. are already many desirable books. - fiction and non-fiction - ready to give readers many hours of enjoyment and/or enlightenment.
