Smart, Area Conservationist, has been engaged in this work for many years and now nears his retirement date. He was presented with a scroll expressing the deep appreciation for his work in this area. The area farmers honored for their conservation achievements were: The three Weaver brother s-r Thomas, Overton and Sterling from Madison; Bill Gayle of Culpeper; Raymond A. Matthews, Orange; T. M. Shelton, Greene; Bud Beane of Fauquier and M. L. Manwaring of Rappahannock.
