Stuart Palmer called to report his Sears sow had 17 pigs the night of December 16. Stuart will have to set up several nights or provide relay service since a sow normally has only twelve and sometimes fourteen “outlets*. Stopped by to see them and they are doing fine. Fifteen were still alive at that time.
Last year when the five boys got the Sears Gifts, Stuart and Donald Beahm had friendly bets on which sow would produce the most pigs. I believe Stuart won last spring. I wonder if Donald can boast as well. The arrival of such pigs is only the beginning for these projects. Pig and sow care to save all of them is essential fQE. ^any profit. Records they keep are helpful in dete£$r\ii}ing how really successful the project is.
