I read of the hospitality houses maintained by the organization — in St. Petersburg, Fla., Long Beach, Calif., and the recently opened hospitality house in Washington. All this and more for so modest a membership fee, $2 a year, the total cost. Could the AARP be completely on the level? Could there be a gimmick? The way to find out would be to pay a visit to the national headquarters, talk with officials there and with fellow members and to weigh carefully everything I would see and hear. The result of the visit is my conviction that the AARP is a straight-f o r w a r d organization dedicated to the furtherance of the best Interests of older persons; that membership in/ the AARP is something to be thankful for. The national headquarters of AARP are located in the Dupont Circle Building, 1346 Connecticut Ave., N. W. Washington 6, D. C. They are attractive and spacious.
