A public hearing was held at the courthouse in Washington Thursday on the proposed highway construction and relocation in Rappahannock. The section of Route 211 under consideration was from 1.2 m i 1 e 8 south of the south corporation line of Washington to the intersection of Route 640 east of Ben Venue. W. M. Jeffries, Assistant District Engineer, Culpeper opened the meeting, and explained that the Federal Aid Highway Act of 1962 requires the Virginia Department of Highways to furnish relocation advisory assistance to all displaced families or businesses due to the acquisition or clearance of rights of way for Federal Aid Highways.
