Miss Virt3 won the poultry award. She has excelled as both a raiser and a judge of poultry, winning numerous awards with her birds and placing third in the nation in individual judging in 1960. Her team placed first nationally.

Miss Carbaugh was state winner in dairy foods and received a 19-jewel wrist watch from the Carnation Company, national sponsor of the program.
Now a student at Medical College of Virginia, aspiring to become a nurse like her mother, Mrs. Annie Carbaugh, she was selected top winner for proficiency in preparing dairy foods.
