Hear Missionary
Miss Marjorie Tyson, a Methodist Missionary home on leave of absence from the Philippine Islands will be welcomed by the members of Flint Hill, Sperryville, Washington, and Willis Chapel Methodist Churches at a covered dish dinner to be held at the Flint Hill Fire Hall Saturday evening, February 8, 1964 at 6 p. m. After the dinner Miss Tyson will show some slides and tell of some of her experiences in the Mindanao section of the Philippines, f On Sunday February 9, Miss Tyson will be guest speaker at the regular Worship Services in the Methodist Churches. Rev. James Grimmer* pastor of the churches, extended an invitation for everyone to join them in the covered dish dinner and fellowship and at the worship services which will be held at Willis Chapel at 9:45 a.m., Flint Hill at 11:00 a.m., and Washington at 7:30 p.m. Miss Tyson, who is a native Virginian having been born and reared in Portsmouth, is presently serving as Director of Christian Education as part of her training before returning to the Philippines where a sister. Miss Dana Tyson, is presently serving. She worked with the Seaboard Railroad while attending the Norfolk Division of William and Mary College from which she is a graduate. She later attended Garrett Bibllcal Institute where she completed work on her Master's degree. She has served for four years in the Mindanao Islahd of the Philippines prior to obtaining her leave of absence.
