This past week I attended a workshop on slip cover making and drapery construction. Miss Katherine Habel, house furnishings specialist, trained groups of home demonstration agents from the area on the latest recommended techniques in constructing draperies and slipcovers. If any of our county homemakers would like help in either of these areas, feel free to call me. I will be glad to share the information with you. My special thanks to the home demonstration clubs who changed their meeting dates to this week. The Woodville and Castleton Home Demon-, stration Clubs met this week instead of next week because I will be in Blacksburg attending the Outdoor Recreation Symposium. I have received a letter from Miss Catherine Peeryregarding the rug making school.She will work with us for one school on March 4th. I am still hoping she will have a day to do the other school the last week in February. I will notify the ladies interested in the schools by letter as soon as a definite date is set.

Mr. and Mrs. James E.Yates have been making frequent visits to see Frank Yates who is a patient in Winchester Me morlal hospital. They spent last weekend in Alexandria With Edward M. Yates. Pat Updike and Donnie Gallihugh attended the 4-H Honor club banquet in Madison last Wednesday night. Margaret Strickler spent Sun day night with Patricia Updike. Miss Alice Jenkins has returned to school after having been on the sick list last week. Those attending the MYF subdistrict, meeting last Monday at Walkers Chapel near Orange were: Misses Ann Deal, Carol Deal, Eilene Llllard, Grant Lillard, Bob Deal, Donnie Gallihugh, Danny Jenkins, and Miss Woodriff Withrow of Madison, Mrs. Harry Deal and Mrs. Harry Galllghugh. Those attending the Knitting class irf Madison each week, from this Vicinity are: Mrs. Joel Byrd Yowell, Mrs. John Edd Coates, Mrs. William Coppedge, Mrs. Grady Brown, Mrs. Matt Weakley, Mrs. Charles Jenkins, and Mrs. Harry Galllghugh. Sunday dinner guest of Mrs. Gilbert Weakley and the Harry Gallihugh’s was Upton Weakley of Culpeper. Mrs. Harry Deal and Mrs. Watts Weakley were shopping in Charlottesville last week. The Rev. John Frizzell and son Johnny of Annandale were Thursday luncheon guests of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Yates of Meadow Green.
