On Reed Farm

The Reed farm is located on Route 522 between Flint Hill and Massles Corner and is the former Jake Keyser place. This is the second barn in that area to burn within a week. Sunday night, a week before, a barn on the Paul Nicholas property burned to the ground. The fire was discovered by a passing motorist, and Flint Hill, Washington and Sperryville fire companies responded to the alarm. However, the structure was too far gone to be saved but nearby buildings were watered down to prevent burning. Around a hun dred bales of hay in the barn burned. Cause of the blaze is undermined.
