Two Rappahannock school teachers and three students sustained minor Injuries in a two-car collision Monday morning, February 3. Afourth student was not injured. All were from Washington, Va. Miss Mary Miller Wood, driving a 1961 Chevrolet, was struck by Robert W. (Buck) Brown in a 1959 Ford as he made a left turn in front of her into Hampton Inn on Route 211, according to Trooper K. L. Miller. Miss Wood was enroute from her home to Sperryv ille Elementary School where she teaches the third grade. She received a lacerated chin. Mr. Brown was not hurt. Mrs. Matilda Walker, a passenger in the Wood car and a teacher at Sperryville school sustained lacerations of the right arm. Other passengers in the Wood vehicle were Judy, Janet and Wayne Burke, children of Mr. and Mrs. John Burke. Judy and Janet had cuts inside their mouths and Wayne was not injured. Another passenger was Mary Miller Wood II, daughter of Mrs. Downing Wood, who sustained abrasions of the forehead and minor injury to her right leg. The accident victims were treated at Culpeper Memorial hospital and released.
