Warrenton, Va. - Key official and civic leaders of a sixcounty area are being invited to a special community meeting at Warrenton to learn the story of high school driver education as a major weapon against Virginia's climbing traffic problem.
The two-hour session, scheduled for Wednesday, April 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Fauquier High School auditorium, has been called by Virginians for Driver Education. More than 300 invitations to the meeting will be received by leaders in Fauquier, Rappahannock, Culpepqr, Prince Wil 11am, Loudoun and Fairfax Counties. The local meeting is cosponsored by the Farm Bureaus and Safety Councils of these counties. Speakers during the twohour session will include Cullen Johnson of Richmond, safety director of the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation, Don Costa of Roanoke, regional public affairs manager of the Allstate Insurance Companies and-Henry M. Hambrecht, Jr. of Richmond, assistant supervisor of driver education in the State Department of Education.
Costa and Johnson are the chairman and vice chairman of Virginians for Driver Education. They describe the group as "an informal alliance of Virginians who recognize the immense life-and-death value of driver education courses, and who work together to inform all Virginians of this value." Others in VDE include civic, educator and governmental leaders in Virginia.

Banquet Tuesday
The Culpeper Chamber of Commerce held their 49th annual banquet at the Culpeper County Fire Hall on Tuesday night with a record turnout of members and guests in the midst of a spring snowstorm. The main address was given by Mr. Edward A. Wayne, Pre sldent. Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, who . used Green's Notes of Culpeper to trace past history and continued to bring the background of the present progress enjoyed by Culpeper to the attention of those present and to point out the part that many present had played in making possible this progress over the past 15 years. New brochures in color were distributed and retiring president, J. Carlton Cl ore turn ed the gavel over to J. B. Carpenter, Jr. who heads the . slate of officers for the 50th year that the Culpeper Chamb er has been organized. Among guests from neighboring communities present were. Mrs. B. M. Miller and Mrs/ George H. Davis, Jr. who represented the Council of the Town of Washington.
