Miss Carolyn Gates Turner spent the holiday from her teaching position in Henrico County, Thursday until Tuesday with her mother, Mrs. L. J. Turner. Mrs. Turner and Miss Turner were guests Thursday of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Turner in Arlington. Mr. and Mrs. E. M. Jones and family were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. L. J. Turner.
Mrs. Reid Beidler left Doctor’s Hospital on Wednesday. She will remain for a week with Mrs. William Curtis in Clinton, Md. before returning to the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Racer. Dr. John Turner, son of Mrs. L. J. Turner, who is interning at Norfolk General Hospital,*has received orders to report for Army duty at Anchorage, Alaska. He will go there in October following a month’s duty at a station in Texas. The duty at Anchor age will be for 30 months.! Mrs. Wade H. Massie, Jr. spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Eastham at Red Hill. Miss Lizzie Eastham returned home with her grandmother for a week’s stay. Miss Annie Miller Almond of Chantilly spent the weekend at her home here. The Rev. and Mrs. Charles F. Glaenzer were guestsfrom Monday until Wednesday of Mr. Glaenzer’s mother Mrs. G. C. Luckham and Mr. Luckham at Irvington. Miss Sandra Settle of Amiss-I ville was the guest of her uncle and aunt Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Finch am last week. Her brother Gary Settle was a Friday overnight guest. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Ramey and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Keys of Slate Mills were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Updike.
