Army Specialist Five Franklin D. Dodson, whose wife, Ann, lives on Route 1, Oak Grove, Ky., is scheduled to complete a nine-day amphibious training exercise at the U. S. Naval Amphibious Base, ■ Little Creek, Va.. March 31. Dodson is assigned to the 27th Engineer Battalion, apart of the Strategic Army Corps, at Fort Campbell, Ky. Special 1st Dodson, a heavy equipment operator in the battalion’s Company C., entered the Army in November 1950. He is the son of Mrs. Olive M. Dodson Washington. Va.
USS Everglades - Navy Chief Warrant Officer Roger A. Pair mer, husband of the former Jessie M. Gaunt of Route 1, Sperryville is serving aboard the destroyer tender USS Ever glades, operating with the Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean.
Everglades arrived in Naples, Italy Feb. 22 to relieve the destroyer tender USS Tidewater and assume the duties as the tender of the Sixth Fleet. Everglades makes repairs and supplies replacement parts to destroyers not requiring major shipyard work.

Mrs. Irntf Nethers of Hood spent several days last week as a guest of Mrs. Quaintance and Miss Ramsey. Mrs. Iris Brooke was a luncheon guest on Wednesday The Rev. W. B. Dennis reports that his granddaughter Virginia Lee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gutherie J. Beddingfield of Alexandria was married on Saturday to Kenneth Maynard Wease of Alexandria.
On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dennis and family and A. W. Woodward of Culpeper visited Rev. Dennis.
Easter Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Kennedy were Mr. and Mrs. Weston Kennedy and daughter Tammie of Centerville, Bill Kennedy and Mr. and Mrs. Isiah Smoot and family of Culpeper; Mr. and Mrs. C, H. Smoot and family of Barboursville and Mr. and Mrs. John Kennedy of Manassas Park. Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Kennedy and family are moving to a new residence in Manassas Park.
