Winchester, Va.—It’s Apple Blossom time. Thousand? of apple trees are bursting into bloom and the pink, green and white banners, symbolic of the blossoms, decorate the downtown area as this city awaits the Influx of visitors from everywhere coming to celebrate the 37th Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Miss Luci Baines Johnson, younger daughter of President and Mrs. Lyndon B. Johnson, will be crowned Queen Shenan doah XXXVII at ceremonies here on Thursday at 2:30p.m. EST, at the Handley Bowl. Gen. Curtis E. LeMay, Chief of Staff of the U. S. Air Force, will crown the young ruler of blossom land. Miss Johnson will be the first to arrive of an array of notables and celebrities who will take part In the coming fete. The Queen-elect will come from Washington on Wed nesday morning to begin a round of pre-Festival events, One of her first duties will be to cut a huge apple pie for the benefit erf photographers, members of the press, radio and TV.
