to accrued annual leave or sick leave and should not file claim until he has received payment for all such leave, Including severance pay if any; For example, a veteran over 65 years of age suffers a heart attack on March 1, 1964. He is eligible for a pension from a medical standpoint. At the time of the attack the veteran is employed and his annual and sick leave will retain him on the payroll until July 1, 1964. If his claim is filed now all his income will be counted until the end of this year, and he probably will have excess income for pension purposes. If he waits until July 1, 1964, only his income from then on will be counted, and if not ex cessive he can receive VA: pension for the remainder of the year. Edward M.
