A large crowd filled the town of Flint Hill to overflowing for their firemen’s parade last Thursday evening. The gigantic parade featuring more than 150 units, was the grand feature of the annual firemen’s carnival. Floats, bands, drum and bugle corps, majorette groups and fire, and rescue equipment from fQifr states participated in the parade. The U. S. Marine Corps Band from Quantico, and the Khedive Temple Oriental Band of Newport News led the parade. Red-Haired Miss Virginia, Carolyn Lee Eddy of Norfolk, grand marshal of the parade awarded prizes to winners in the various divisions.
