Rappahannock County Schools open for the 1964-65 session on Monday, August 31. The first day of school will be abbreviated with children returning home by 12:30. Tuesday, September 1 will be a full school day with lunch served in schools operating cafeterias.
Pre-School Conference for teachers will begin on Wednesday, August 26 with leaders reporting to their respective schools. On Thursday, August 27, the Warren-Rappahannock Division-Wide Conterence will be held at the E. Wilson Morrison Elementary School in Front Royal. Mr. Bernard Taylor, Supervisor of Elementary Education, State Dept, of Education and Dr. Sydney Sand* ridge, Dean of Ferrum College will be the principal speakJ ers. Culpeper Talent Show
Contestants from Rappahannock took first and second place in the senior division of the talent show held Friday in. connection with the Culpeper County Farm Show there A four-member rock and roll band which included Barry and Larry Jolliffe, Harold Walker and Battle Smith all of Viewtown, captured the firgt prize of $25. In second place were two brothers, Warren and Bradford Beebe of Castleton who received a check for $15 They presented vocal and instrumental selections.
