A dairy feeder steer saleanother first for Virginia dairymen, the Virginia Department of Agriculture (VDA) says-will be held Friday in Culpeper. The number of dairy-type steers has increased and consumer demand for this type of meat has gone up, according to VDA. It expects 500 steers for the sale. They will be officially graded by VDA. Consignments are limited to steers of Holstein breeding or crosses from a Holstein cow and beef bull and weighing 400 to 1,100 pounds.. »

Ninety-seven per cent of the 1,227 graduates from Virginia Polytechnic Institute during the past year have been employed, will pursue fulltime graduate work or have entered the armed forces. Dr. William H. Cato, director of placement at VPI, also revealed in his annual report that 55.6 per cent of those either employed or who will enter graduate school will locate in Virginia, a slight increase over last year. Others will be located in 31 states, the District of Columbia and nine foreign countries. During, the past year, 363 companies and agencies sent 688 representatives to recruit on the VPI campus. Demand by recruiters was again highest for graduates in engineering, science and accounting, but the demand for graduates from the college of business is increasing rapidly. There were 7,943 individual Interviews held.
