the correct buttons, 100 letters a minute are automatically directed to bins for 50 different destinations. A larger device, the Burroughs sorter, drops letters and cards into 131 different bins at a rate of 58 letters per minute for each of the twelve operators. The work area is surrounded by a ramp and gallery for visitors which is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week.
