Harry Hawkins and Wade Willihan Massie each received seven merit badges during the week-long camporee at Camp Rock Enon from July 26 through August 1. This topped the former high mark of six badges received in a week which was held by Carl Clark and David Palmer. The troopreceivedasa whole 53 merit badges and partical completion of 11 more. Tapped for Order of the Arrow, one of the highest' honors in scouting, were Page Moffett, Ned Moffett Jones and C. E. Giles, Jr. To be accepted in the Order of the Arrow, a scout must have outstanding camping ability and service to others. Stuart Palmer and Stewart Hawkins passed requirements for First Class Scout, while John Henry Williams, Jerry Smoot, Champ Carney, Daniel Hitt and Ray Pullen passed requirements for Second Class Scouts. Page Moffett and Ned Moffett Jones were awarded their Scout Lifeguard Certificates and were highly recommended by the camp staff for counselors next year. The Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church Sunday School Picnic will be held Saturday, August 8 at Schulers Pool and 'Picnic Grounds near Luray.
