A single vehicle wreck occurred early Sunday morning in the center of Amissville. David Edward Jackson of Washington operating a 1963 Ford convertible owned by Parsons Cars, Inc. of Fairfax was heading east on Route 211 at 1:25 a.m. He lost control of the vehicle on a curveran off the right of the highway, skidded across the road and knocked down two roadside signs on the left. Damage to the vehicle was estimated ! at $75, according toTropper W. A. Buntin who investigated. Jackson was charged with fait ing to maintain proper control of the vehicle. Friday morning, October 22 in the Town of Washington a j skidding 65 Mustang struck a light pole. John Richard Turner of Washington, operator of the Mustang, was heading north on Route 211 when the vehicle skidded on wet pavement and struck the pole. He sustained a lacerated tongue and some loosened teeth anc was treated by Dr. J. P. Snead and released, according to Trooper Paul Dicks. Rappahannock Rescue Squadtrans ported him to the doctor’s office in Sperryville. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $300. Turner was on leave from service duty. He had just returned from a tour of duty in Germany and left the following day for an assignment in Kentucky.
