junk up a beautiful land with auto graveyards, trailors and various other eyesores that deprive us of the very assets that make life worth living in the country. Surely in time lack of zoning will also bring us smudgey smokestacks, foul acrid air, vinyl honky-tonks, cheap signboards and dusty rock quarries. In fact, we already have a rock quarry near Flint Hill, the county’s newest “industry”. Drive by some time and watch the swirl of rocky dust darken the sun above it; but watch your driving, for on U. S. 522, a two-lane highway, you are more than likely to see half a dozen dump trucks racing to and f rom the quarry, and when they are loaded and in front of you, you had better drop far behind to avoid the cloud of dust and rock particles. Without question these huge racing trucks are a hazard to anyone venturing on U. S. 522, and surely they detract from the beauty of the landscape. Perhaps there will always be a need for trailors, quarries, dump trucks and auto graveyards. But there can and should also be orderly zoning designed to preserve those sections of the nation that can still be saved for" better living. With proper zoning, growth
