Residents of Amissville and the surrounding communities will have the opportunity to hear one of the outstanding Methodist preachers in Vip ginia when Dr. James Roy Smith comes to Amissville Methodist Church for the evenings of October 31 through November 3. Services will be held at 7:30 EST. Dr. Smith is presently min ister of Mt. Olivet Methodist Church in Arlington. During his nine years at Mt. Olivet, Dr. Smith has received more than 2,200 members into the church and its current mem bership is in excess of 2,800 The Rev. Smith has twice circled the globe and has con ducted preaching missions in Cuba, Denmark, England, Cep many, India, Japan, Korea, Okinawa, Pakistan, Puerto Rico, Scotland and Sweden. In addition he has visited with Christians behind the Iron Curtain in Russia, Poland and East Germany. Dr. Smith is also President of the Board of Evangelism of the Virginia Conference of the Methodist Church. He is a keen student of human nature, a well-informed scholar on the issues currently confronting the Christian Church and a silver-tongued orator in* the pulpit.
